Springboard BOSS Villages
The next (Springboard 2.0} version of Low Barrier Navigation Centers (LBNCs) will be Interim Housing using advanced modular structures. This next-generation approach will feature durable, flexible, and scalable designs built to residential code standards with a class 1 fire rating, allowing for efficient on-site assembly and easy relocation. These units will provide a safe environment with integrated health care, job training, and case management services. The Interim Housing LBNCs will improve the original model by offering greater sustainability, adaptability, and space utilization, advancing efforts to address homelessness and promote self-sufficiency.
Springboard Cottage Communities
The Springboard Cottage Communities development model addresses the shortage of affordable rental units for Extremely Low Income (ELI) households by providing permanent, 400 square-foot cabins with kitchens and bathrooms. This initiative is designed to meet the needs identified in the Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) Housing Needs Study, which highlights a significant gap in affordable housing for ELI populations. The model emphasizes sustainability and community engagement while offering integrated supportive services, such as health care and job training, to foster stability and promote health equity for diverse groups, including the elderly, disabled, and families with children.
Springboard Pallet Village
The Springboard Pallet Village in Georgetown DE is a pilot project for the Low Barrier Navigation Center (LBNC) model, designed to offer immediate, supportive housing solutions for homeless individuals. This initiative provides temporary, low-barrier housing with essential services, including access to health care, job training, and case management.
The Pallet Village has demonstrated the effectiveness of the LBNC model in creating a flexible, supportive environment that facilitates rapid housing transitions and addresses the diverse needs of its residents. Its success continues to inform the expansion and refinement of the LBNC approach.
